Fulfilling
her dream to sail in the South Pacific, in 1976 Kathleen
sailed on a '36 sailboat from Tahiti to Samoa. In Huahine
she met a woman who was like a sister to her, even though
they had no common language. John, who owned the boat, could
speak French, so they communicated through a translator.
They felt sad when they had to part, and 20 years later
Kathleen fantasized going back and finding Hina. This story/song
tells of that fantasy. Yvonne Lausell captures the fantasy
in her lovely oil paintings.
